Hey there!
Welcome to The Little Things where I hope to express all the things I find beautiful in my life. Using photos, words, colors, and emotions I hope to let you in on the beautiful little things that I find in life. So here we go! Buckle down and ease your mind. These are the little things in my life.
Well who am I?
I am a 17 year-old student in Montana. I have four brothers and one sister, two amazing parents, four dogs, three cats, two birds… the whole package. My father is optimistic and he helps me see the beautiful things and life and helps me understand the things that everyone should know, so I wanted to share these little nuggets of advice with you. My mother is a photographer and knows how to find the beauty in any situation (in a photo, I mean) and I think photography is a great way to relate to others in a deeper level. Words can speak to us but the colors can make us feel. That’s why I hope to include photos of my life and things I find beautiful. I am no photographer, I give you that, there are plenty of people better than I am but I believe everyone can capture the beauty around them. That is exactly what I hope to do for you.Why did I start The Little Things?
My New Years Resolution of course! My Resolution for 2012 is Matthew 5:44.How did I choose this for my Resolution, and how does this relate to a blog?
On New Years Day I was sitting at home with my family all depressed and disappointed with my life, but my father being the amazing person he is helped me to see why I was upset and he told me to look at any situation with love and not allow anyone to hurt me. Then directly after we watched The Help (great movie by the way, strongly recommend) the lesson in The Help was, none other than, Matthew 5:44, love thy enemy. So it was a metaphorical palm to the face of my ego, telling me to change. What better time than New Years? That’s why I chose Matthew 5:44. I want to learn to look at every situation and find God’s love, and the beautiful things. It’s my greatest weakness in life, so I want to strengthen this trait and weaken others, such as: my stubbornness. I wanted to start this blog as a kind of incentive to look for beautiful things and be positive in my life. I hope to influence others just as much as myself and want to share the experiences I am blessed to have every single day.
